Double capacity on the smallest of footprints: Steelco's dedicated solution for endoscopes
Two-chamber EW 1 S Duo washer-disinfector
With the new, compact EW 1 S on rack endoscope reprocessor, Steelco is adding a further compact special solution to its endoscope reprocessing portfolio. For the first time, two asynchronous chambers are available, each for one gastro/colon flexible endoscope. The two units are totally independent for benefits in maintenance activities and greater flexibility in use.
The 90 cm wide disinfector requires around 30% less installation space than other models with a comparable capacity. This makes it ideal for installation in confined spaces. Alongside the standard model, a two-door barrier configuration is available which allows installation in a diaphragm wall, separating the clean and contaminated sides of the operation.
The asynchronous reprocessing cycles are each completed within 18 minutes plus optional drying. Convenient controls cut down on operating time and effort: a sensor for instance identifies the operator request to open the door automatically for a total hands-free operation. Up to 3 broncho/cystoscopes can be independently monitored per each chamber during the whole process. EW 1 S on rack endoscope reprocessor grants proven standards of high-level disinfection or liquid sterilization with comprehensive documentation of the process. Process chemicals are stored in a dedicate compartment below the disinfector.
To ensure that every single step of the washing and disinfection process is traceable, operator and instrument ID can be input by using an RFID or barcode scanner. Process documentation can be locally stored or centrally traced by SteelcoData ARES, Steelco's own track and trace software. A self-disinfection cycle prevents any risk of device contamination.
EW 1 S on rack endoscope reprocessor is a device featuring the Steelco OCS One Connection System. Considering that the endoscope channels must be connected and disconnected no fewer than 4 times during conventional reprocessing phases (manual aided prewashing, endoscope reprocessing, drying and storage, transfer to patient room) using dedicated sets of adapters, the OCS system enables the use of the same adapter for endoscopes throughout the entire reprocessing cycle, making for greater safety, less cross-contamination and a more efficient process. The risk of cross-contamination when transporting endoscopes is also reduced through the use of Steelco transport trolleys for short-term storage.
