Systematic solutions for efficient instrument reprocessing with maximum productivity
Steelco CSSD installations to suit all room sizes, layouts and needs
Safety and efficiency are issues in all hospitals – but can also be turned into solutions that enable maximum productivity. Starting from as little as 40 m2, Steelco can create customized work areas catering for individual clients’ needs to enhance ergonomics, instrument workflow and productivity.
A professional analysis of requirements combined with experience ensures the selection of the most appropriate machines and accessories for individual customers. The Steelco design team can produce 2D or 3D plans of new CSSDs or facilities requiring refurbishment. These enable clients to visualize their building with equipment in place, showing the workflow from the receipt of contaminated instruments, cleaning and disinfection through to sterilisation and storage and the return of supplies to operating theatres.
TW 3000/2 dual chamber washer
When larger volumes of instruments need to be washed and disinfected, the TW 3000/2 dual-chamber washer with a 2 m2 footprint can reprocess up to 62 trays an hour. With two separate chambers for washing and drying; two different loads with entirely different reprocessing requirements can be washed and dried simultaneously with wash racks exiting the drying chamber every 17 minutes. A wide range of load carriers for MIS instruments or up to 18 DIN mesh trays that can also be used on the DS1000 are available.
LC 20 trolley washer
Configured for either chemical or thermal disinfection, the LC 20 is the most compact trolley washer on the market for large items such as distribution trolleys, containers and wheelchairs. In addition, this model can reprocess standard surgical instruments. With a width of 180 cm, the LC20 is available in chamber lengths of 1.5 and 3 m with the capacity to reprocess 32 or 64 containers per hour respectively.
Automation
Automatic loading and unloading systems are available for large-chamber disinfectors and sterilisers to maximize throughput with automatic programme selection and simultaneous loading and unloading with a shuttle, eliminating the need for separate infeed and outfeed conveyers attached to each machine.
For example an ATS with 3 x DS1000 washers can process up to 96 DIN mesh trays per hour or, with 3 x TW 3000/2 dual chamber machines, deliver 186 trays during the same period. Dedicated cold pre-cleaning or ultrasonic washing modules can be added to ATS systems.
Traceability
Irrespective of the customised aspects of a CSSD, Steelco offers its customers comprehensive easy-to-use traceability software solutions that capture equipment performance as well as record all workflow stages of instrument reprocessing, integrating with theatre planning, logistics, ERP and other software as required.
Support
A factory trained and experienced service team ensures efficient installation, commissioning and technical support and can provide validation services during and outside normal working hours as well as support to hospital biomedical engineers.
